Effective against dogs This is better, if questioned then you’re correcting “your” dog. Not many people need to apply deodorant mid dog walk. First thing to my mind is my wife has this comb with a freaking metal spike on the end of it, which is apparently for pulling out tangles? Looks more like a shiv if you ask me. Having seen inside my wife’s handbag, I know it won’t be, there are lots of things that could be used to defend yourself, but looking from a legal POV deodorant, deep heat spray, pin tail comb etc is being used as a weapon and could cause injury, the pet corrector spray is just compressed air, occasionally with a citrus scent for the sole purpose of correcting the pet, designed for the purpose. If someone sprayed my dog with deep heat then I’d probably react in a way that will make the situation and how OP feels threatened worse. The guy is clearly at best careless, at worst an arsehole who could react badly and escalate the situation.

You;ve missed the final part, which is ‘intended for use’. That’s the bit that can get OP into trouble. I can carry a hammer, which is neither made nor adapted for this purpose, however if I’m intent on going and hitting someone with it, it’s an offensive weapon. It only stands if OP intends the item to be used as a weapon, and the definition of weapon rests on the concept of injury to the person.
