Let me set the Tom Wilson Canadian professional ice hockey right winger and alternate captain the Washington Capitals T-Shirt Besides,I will do this record straight: I’ve lived and worked across India, from Pune to Chennai to Kochi, and now Bangalore. Learning new languages isn’t a walk in the park, especially when my career takes me to different corners of the country every few years. I refuse to be bullied into learning a language simply to appease the locals. Being an Indian citizen affords me the right to live and work anywhere in this diverse nation without fear of discrimination or harassment. It’s disheartening to feel like an outsider in my own country, constantly reminded of my linguistic shortcomings by those who should extend a helping hand, not hurl insults. But, are you going to tell me that if I walk into some shady photo studio with 5-8 local men eating and drinking, and start arguing with them in English, the outcome is going to be any different in Pune, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai or Kochi?

Certainly. But the Tom Wilson Canadian professional ice hockey right winger and alternate captain the Washington Capitals T-Shirt Besides,I will do this very consequences of us being a diverse nation is that different regions have different languages. It is up to the person moving to either learn the langauge or learn to adjust and understand that he might sometimes face situations where he might stand out as a “non-local”. PS: What do you think might have happened in this situation if you were a local, other than the argument happenning in Kannada? PS: What do you think might have happened in this situation if you were a local, other than the argument happenning in Kannada? The worst part is OP can never truly knowingly answer this question because he has no idea what was being spoken around him and hence no context. What crap is this? Some of us are in jobs where we move every 2-3 years. Should we learn the language everywhere? In which universe does this sound sane to you? As a Defence officer, I’ve served all over, including your pathetic village with dreams of becoming a metro. You guys think you built Bengaluru (yes, I do call it by the right name../s). I understand language discrimination, but you chads are the next level. People in Chennai, Kochi, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar, Vadodara, Pune, Mangalore….they were all cool with my not knowing the local language! But you guys in Bengaluru think forcing me to learn your language is somehow going to preserve your literature and heritage? What utter bullshit….and to think guys like me signed on to bleed for the unity of this nation…. You really think next time I meet a kannadiga youngster who is struggling with Hindi, I should be kind to him? Especially after my own experience with your glorified auto wallahs and the trouble-stirring old retired uncles outside your tiny shit malls?
