I don’t place restrictions on other people and refuse to have them placed on me as well. Nothing anyone does or says will ever stop their partner from cheating aside from that persons moral compass. I don’t date people who I don’t trust to have the Tom And Jerry Hat Santa Walmart Tree Merry Christmas Shirt and by the same token and ability to behave with integrity when I’m not present. Look, don’t touch. I have zero issues with guys looking and drooling if my girl is dressed to kill, but if they are trying to grope her, that’s where I draw the line. Lots have answered about what they would feela bout it themselves, but I think many folks forget the social aspect. You also have to be aware of how others will periceve your behavior and how that might reflect on your partner. It’s possible to have things that both you and your aprtner have zero issues with and violates no trust, makes neither of you uncomfortable, but may not be percieved that way by outside observers (due to their limited info, cultural norms, etc). It’s easy to say “well they dont matter! its cool if we’re cool”, which is true ot some extent. But as they say “we live in a society”, and for most of us, a LOT of things in our lives can be made a lot more difficult is our friends/families/coworkers/neighbors/peers have certian eprceptions of us. Also there is the pride/shame aspect of it.

For example, if your partner has an ex that they are still friends with, and you know this ex well, and you trust your partner totally, and know that there is NOTHING between them and the Tom And Jerry Hat Santa Walmart Tree Merry Christmas Shirt and by the same token and ex (maybe you know the ex recently embraced their previosuly-supressed homosexuality, whatever). You may ahve absolutely ZERO concerns if your partner goes out rinking with them every other friday and ends up crashing at their house. But if they’re doing that at the bar wher eyour social cirlce hangs out, it’s very likley that some of your friends/acquantances will begin making bad assumptions about your partner and your relatiopnship. But knowing people WILL do it, and theres nothing you can do to stop that, is it fair for your partner to put you in that situation (where all your friends think you’re being cheated on publicly?)? ISit a good thing to have your friend group think that (even mistakenly) about your partner?
