I just had a baby 2 days ago. It’s already been very difficult and suddenly, now I find out that my baby is having withdrawals from SSRIs (Zoloft specifically) I was taking during pregnancy as a precaution to not have postpartum depression. I was already prescribed Zoloft before pregnancy but I hadn’t needed it for a while as I take it for anxiety so it’s just a low dose of 50mg, but all my doctors (I saw a few different OBs due to various reasons) NEVER mentioned that there could be withdrawals. They all said it was safe for me and baby, and nothing more than that. Would’ve been nice to have a heads up instead of left wondering and guessing what’s wrong with my baby, and why all of these weird behaviors, and having to do a bunch of tests JUST to find out it’s MY fault accidentally and a nurse had to tell me instead of any of the Title Fight Merch Outsiders Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this doctors…

Just none of the Title Fight Merch Outsiders Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this medical professionals mentioning this until now is mildly infuriating…My dr advised me that Zoloft is the safest option. I’m curious what symptoms your baby was dealing with? I had mine 4 years ago and this might explain some things! Not the original poster, but I was prescribed 25mg the last month of my pregnancy, due to extreme PPA and health issues I had with my first. I can’t imagine what my life would have been like if I wouldnt have started that, because my daughter was born a week covid shut everything down. I was upped to 50mg after birth, and breastfed despite the dosage/medication I was on. I stopped breastfeeding after three months without any issue transitioning to formula. My daughter is 3ish and is thriving. I am NO expert when it comes to kids and babies, but if this is your first, maybe you’re attributing normal newborn cries and whines to the Zoloft. Don’t blame yourself for taking medication to better you, to be a better parent. Babies cry even when they’re at their happiest.
