Then they claim all the money people donate on their taxes as donations form them and it lowers their taxes Yeah, my local grocery store has an option to donate money to Ukraine. I do not believe even one penny of that money will go to Ukraine. Or when I’m shopping at GOODWILL and they ask me if I want to donate to help children….Ummm isn’t that what I’m doing by shopping here??? Never ever donate this way. The store takes the money themselves and donate it under their own names and use it as a tax write off. It’s just evil. Anyone who has looked into this (it’s been going on for years) knows that the corporations don’t claim a deduction. And all it takes is to ask, “what’s the charity and is it local?” to determine whether or not you want to donate. It’s not a scam and actually helps a lot of charities. If you are in a position to help, why not support your local food bank, plant some trees, or give to a camp for disadvantaged children while you’re buying your fancy water and nth family size bag of cheese puffs? I think about this all the time when prompted. then, I end up donating bc it’s a great thing to do. After, I wonder if they’re using everyone’s donations as a write off. Followed by wondering why I’m thinking entirely too long for .30-1.00 and I shouldn’t smoke as much before going out. Not only that, the ‘Big Box’ stores got record profits during Covid but they’re all getting rid of human tellers and hiring the least amount of human beings as they can.
