The biggest thing I can think off, is that he got other country’s to up their NATO commitment, and in general made the This Nurse Loves The Las Vegas Raiders shirt moreover I will buy this military a bigger priority for many countries. He showed that the US can no longer be trusted as a military power, since they are increasingly looking inward, and are cosying up to dictatorial powers. When Trump wins the next election (if the polls are to be believed), then it spells doom for cooperation between the US and other democracy’s in many ways. I believe that his first presidency’s made other countries make plans for this eventuality. The world had just decided in the 80’s “lets welcome China into world trade, and once they taste capitalism, the people will change the system from the inside as they’ll want to get in”. China just doubled down on authoritarianism and technology-enabled mass surveillance/control. The bet wasn’t a good one, but companies were all too happy to use China as a manufacture, resulting in off-shoring : loss of jobs ans cheaper goods.

Trump isn’t a master of subtlety, nor understanding the This Nurse Loves The Las Vegas Raiders shirt moreover I will buy this multiple level of relationship/diplomacy, and he doesn’t like to “lose”. Well, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. In the case of China, he got a bullseyes : this was a losing deal for western democracies, cheap TV/Smartphone had destroyed well-payed manufacturing jobs (which is one of the ingredients in how America got to raise a a global superpower) and China wasn’t any closer to adopt democracy. But by tearing the veil, he made it so that competent politicians actually started calling China for what it is : a threat to democracy and a losing deal. Arming Taiwan, re-shoring manufacturing industries and Intel’s new manufacture being built in the USA all stems from this. Wasn’t a cease fire agreement reached between Isreal and Palestine during his presidency? I’m not a fan by any means, but I’m pretty sure that was a good thing.
