He was clearly turning before being pushed. You’re theorizing about what could have happened but that’s not how the This Girl Is Now 12 T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this rules work.. I am definitely a biased opinion but the Penguins defender makes the majority of the contact with the goalie, while Kakkoo is still trying to make a hockey play as he’s going down and the Penguin defender is the one initiating the contact and making most of it with Kakkoo and with the goalie. It’s a tough call, but the fact he’s making a hockey play the entire time and not initiating contact makes it kind of annoying. My problem is if it is that close that you can call it either way – which it is – then call on the ice should stand. And call on the ice was a goal. I think he might’ve made some contact but I think Dumolin’s push altered his trajectory and made the impact so large. And idk if it’s right to judge based on the hypothetical of what would’ve happened without the push.

It really doesn’t take much of a push when going at that speed, Kakko is cutting to the This Girl Is Now 12 T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this left and probably doesn’t even touch the crease, but when dumolin pushed him his path is pushed directly at the goalie. I can honestly see it either way tbh though but I don’t think Kakko makes contact without that push You can’t say Dumoulin pushed him. His arms are fully extended, he’s already skating in that direction, Kakko turns into him and initiates the contact. Dumoulin can’t instantly stop his momentum to avoid the contact. This is 100% on Kakko and should not be a good goal. Rewatch it, you will see the arms fully extended and no push at all. It’s just the collision and the momentum of Dumoulin skating in a straight line. There’s no path through the crease that doesn’t bring him through DeSmith though. It doesn’t matter what Dumo did, he’s going through the goalie one way or another.
