In Canada, we got rid of single dollar bills (and got rid of pennies too later on, good riddance) thirty years ago, and I certainly don’t miss them. Personally I wish we would just switch over to polymer based currency. I also fucking hate coins. Although to be fair I very seldom use physical money. I barely even use my card all that often, most of the They Are Not Grey Hair Wisdom Highlights Extremely Dragon shirt Apart from…,I will love this time I just pay with my phone. I just don’t like coins. I don’t want a jingle when I walk. But I liked these in concept, I was happier to get one of these from the vending machine than 4 quarters. Inflation being what it is, I don’t even think about pennies/nickels/dimes, if I get em I just put em in a bowl in my room and someday I’ll bother to Coinstar them. Quarters are worth keeping for vending machines, gas station tire inflator machines, and laundry, but I could see them someday going down a peg and dollar coins being the only coin I care about.

I liked them especially those half dollar coins. I loved the idea of a dollar coin. It kind of had a air of nostalgia to it. The times I spent one it was fun to do. But paper dollars are much easier. I do however wish that the 50 cent piece would make a comeback. They were a failure because they continued to produce dollar bills. If you want the coins to succeed, you have to go cold turkey. I never mind using them and would prefer them over paper, but they are simply not in circulation. They should simply phase out paper $1 bill and that is it. It wasn’t a complete failure. Plenty of people purchased the coins with their credit cards, hundreds at a time, then promptly went to the bank to deposit them and then go buy more. They were getting points from the purchases. Now credit card companies are smarter and don’t allow that xDLast year, just for giggles, I went to the bank and asked for a roll of dollar coins. Why? I just wanted to see if I could. This bank teller then climbs under her desk and spends a good two to three minutes down there. Like is there a basement in this bank I don’t know about?! Snack machines don’t take them. Most stores won’t even take them because it screws up their deposits because they can’t log dollar coins, or so I’ve been told.
