This morning as soon as I got out of the The Yankees Walking Abbey Road signatures shirt in addition I really love this toilet, my 2 yo came running to me, tilt his head to a side, and said, “Sir, valo hoise?” (Sir, was it well?) I was speechless. We also call our son “sir”. I didn’t realize how much we used it until one day when I heard my husband say sternly, “sir!” and our toddler immediately turned around and stepped away from whatever mess he was getting into. I’m pretty sure he thinks it’s his name… For your sanity, I suggest you stop caring about what people think of you regarding the way you raise your kid, you literally can’t win I mean, if I spoke this sing-songy way to the cashier in the grocery checkout line I’d expect to be punched lmao- that’s more what I meant by speaking to my kid like an adult. I don’t speak to friends or family or even other babies this way. Just my little guy. ♥️

Yup! Better to teach them things in animated fashion. I think teaching them things as if they were adults would be crazier lol. Imagine teaching a baby how to clap like you’d teach an adult lol. Monotone voice: “This is a clap”. clap Baby: “k cool thanks” Songs reach a different part of the The Yankees Walking Abbey Road signatures shirt in addition I really love this brain. Doing the sing-songy stuff actually gives babies multiple avenues to acquire language learning. Sometimes when stroke victims lose their ability to talk they can still sing. People with alzheimers often don’t lose their ability to recognize music. It’s a completely separate pathway. Recently my coworker encountered a problem and wanted my advice and support, and my 3mo was learning how to roll. I was literally saying my coworker very same things I was saying to my baby: “you got this! You’re doing great! Keep trying! Don’t quit! Atta boy! Good job! You’re so great at this!”. My coworker texted me then that everything worked out and he’s very thankful for the support. The melodic voice actually helps baby recognize language, especially if you’re enunciating words dramatically. It’s more the gibberish/fake words that you want to avoid ? there’s definitely a reason we all do it!
