It’s hard to feel bad for parents when they complain they are always tired. After a day of teaching, I really need to unwind. My childhood was not really good. I have a mentally ill mother and I don’t want to give my kids a bad childhood.

I was abused my entire life. I’m 23 now and haven’t seen my father (who abused me) in ages and I am far too damaged to attempt having a kid. I spent much of my childhood/early adult life being forced to care for my little sister because my folks saw me as an errand boy for their “star child.” That, and at many parties, people would dump their kids on me to watch them while they did whatever.
