And further to that, Xi Xinping has vowed to have reunification with Taiwan by “any means necessary” by the The Wonderland Murders Shirt and I love this 100 year anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China which is 2049. So although there is no reason to be alarmed, to say it will never happen would also be very naive and flies in the face of everything China has told us and is showing us. Nobody thought Russia would invade Ukraine either, did they? They really want the microchip industry in their hands. Taiwan is supported by US congress fully which is even more supported than Ukraine atm. And the people that know how to put it together and operate it. The Tiawanese government already said it would destroy its microchip facilities before it falls to any aggressor.

Of course, if that would happen, every microchip would become so valuable people would go dumpster diving for obsolete phones. This is why the The Wonderland Murders Shirt and I love this Biden admin’s CHIPS act was so important. Even for people outside the US, making sure state of the art chip fabs aren’t in only one place is a good thing when our global civilization depends on those chips. Granted, it won’t happen overnight, but in a few years the US might have fabs that rival what TSMC has. Let me just say though, if the shit hits the fan before then, TSMC is well within their rights to destroy the fabs rather than let China have them. It would really suck for all of us, but I think that threat more than anything is what’s keeping China at bay. And for that threat to work, it can’t be an empty one. That’s a fair concern, but I think the plan is still to develop cutting edge/research tech in Taiwan because TSMC has grown their supply chain to allow for delivery for all their needs in under a day, and send the mass production chips to the fabs in the US.
