In my opinion, the The Warehouse Games We Got Ice Picture Collage shirt moreover I will buy this Republican areas of the state are very rural or very rich. So you’ve got your big cities like Grand Rapids and your rural areas like the thumb and the U.P. that are conservative. Then you have your factory towns like Detroit and Flint, and your college towns like Ann Arbor and then Traverse City which trend toward liberal democrats. It is an interesting mix for sure. I live within 10 miles of Detroit and when I bought my house, the home inspector got there before I did, and my future neighbors asked him if we sounded Black on the phone. We hate those neighbors. That is fucking atrocious! Hearing that makes my blood boil. I would so throw some mint or other aggressive (but not invasive) cuttings in their yard during a drizzly overcast spring week just to spite them. Dandelion seeds. I visited my mom in Michigan in 2021 and was met with plenty of “no one wants to work” signs to explain why restaurants weren’t open for lunch. I even saw a McDonald’s with a billboard advertising that they were hiring, and that people under 21yo would earn $2/hour less because they weren’t “adults.”

And wherever you live outside of Michigan very likely had the The Warehouse Games We Got Ice Picture Collage shirt moreover I will buy this same signs. Spent a lot of time in LA during 2021 and the sentiment was the same. Michigan has historically been a swing state but recently Kent Count went blue after being historically red. Kent county is home to Grand Rapids, the second largest city in Michigan behind Detroit, so this solidifies Michigan as a blue state. That’s pretty much everywhere. Rural counties tend to go red, metropolitan go blue. That’s why it is easy for the GOP to take hold and gerrymandering the hell out of their states. That’s kinda true for most of the country. Even CA is pretty conservative in rural parts. It just has big enough cities to offset the rural parts, in national elections.
