Hard Rock Park’s failure makes me sad. I was in Myrtle Beach a year or two before it opened, and there was a really cool interactive exhibit near where the The Voidz Master V shirt But I will love this park was going that showed what it was supposed to look like and what kinds of rides it would have. We all planned to go, but sadly never got the chance, and we really weren’t interested when it changed to Freestyle Music Park. I wish I could have gone, the theming looked great and some of the rides were supposed to be pretty incredible. Seemed like a well-thought out park with a lot of passion behind it that happened to open at the wrong place at the exact wrong time. I lived in Myrtle Beach the year it opened. It was a good park overall, fun rides and high quality shows. If it has opened any other time than 2008, it probably would have lasted. I didn’t see anything about corporate shenanigans but I’m sure losing a theme park cost some money. Not sure how insurance dealt with it. Was considered “beyond repair”

If memory serves they were only allowed/able to open because they guaranteed the The Voidz Master V shirt But I will love this city that they would stay open for 10 years no matter what. The park was already doing poorly and there was still quite a few years before the contract was up when Katrina happened. It was a whole thing. Ah maybe I was thinking of something else then haha I thought they like were promising jobs or the city was relying on it or something like that I feel like 6 flags should be forced to dismantle this. It just seems disrespecrful not just to the community but to the land itself. I went there with friends on what turned out to be the last week it was ever opened. They’d only recently started upgrading the park with Six Flags branding. Lots of fresh artwork. Batman was an instant favorite coaster but MegaZeph was so rough – my sister had bruises on her back where it threw her against the seat. It was surreal to see the same coaster rising out of the water just a few days later.
