What father_grapus means is not that they are literally talking only about Christianity, but that most people who are anti-religion have a very narrow view in their head about what religion is based on mainstream Christianity. There are many countless things to criticize about Christianity and Christian culture, but when those critiques are generalized to all religions, they becomr untrue and stop being productive to the The Perishables Fruit Shirt in addition I really love this conversation It’s still got the air of a reaction to Christianity though, or at least Abrahamic religions, with the implication that they’re being proselytized to. There are three religions whose followers are taught on a grand scale to convert people, and they’re all Abrahamic religions Saying this in this comment so people don’t have to scroll to the reply: I was not talking about Judaism. What the The Perishables Fruit Shirt in addition I really love this original post is getting at isn’t just “haha, atheists dumb” it’s that they really only see religion through one lense, trying to dumb it down into one thing to bash. I’ve seen many, many, classic Reddit atheists bash religion with things like “oh ya, Christian’s say they’re good, but their book has genocide!” as if that’s not one of our major places of study and questioning which we already know of. Or take the “blood sacrifices.” If you actually look into tradition and scripture you’ll see it’s way more complex than just something like that. Once again, tons of debate, tradition, and years of writing surrounds so many of these topics. Believe it or not, not all Christian’s are irrational science hating right wing country bumpkins. In order to really understanding scripture and God you have to be rational and intelligent. I’d love to give more specific stuff if you’re interested.
