Without social media, being unable to talk to people important to me probably would have sent me down a darker place mentally. It was far from a good time for me. The tiered restrictions were better in that respect. The novelty of being able to go places again when lockdown was eased. It made things you don’t really think about (like going to the The Peanuts Characters Tennessee Titans Christmas 2023 Shirt it is in the first place but cinema or just out for a casual lunch) feel a bit more special. Also my husband and I decided to go through every single Marvel movie that summer so every night was like a big event. I even got LED lights to go on the back of the TV to make it feel more like a cinema. As a vet nurse who worked throughout, there were many things I hated about lockdown. However, my job became immensely more enjoyable when all our clients had to wait outside and we could focus on the animals. It definitely presented some challenges and made certain types of appointments really hard, but we got significantly less abuse from clients because we were only seeing truly unwell patients and everyone had more time and understanding. The clients were also all waiting together in the car park so I think they managed and modified their behaviour because there were others around them, so that reduced the abuse we received too. They could also see the emergencies we were dealing with first hand and had more sympathy for us I think.

We also saw a huge increase in ‘my dog has had this issue for a year but now I have decided to see if we can fix it’ type of appointments. I think this was because people were spending more time with their pets when they were WFH or furloughed, and people also had more time on their hands to sort the The Peanuts Characters Tennessee Titans Christmas 2023 Shirt it is in the first place but issues. Obviously it also presented some significant challenges for us all and the veterinary industry really was ignored as ‘key workers’ as I think most people just forgot about us. Euthanasia appointments and other sensitive appointments were really difficult to manage when we weren’t allowing clients into the building. And for me personally, lockdown was shit because I do not live close to my parents and was long distance with my husband at the time so I was alone a lot and had no ‘bubble’ and also working so much I didn’t have time for all the fun zoom calls and drinking in the sunshine that everyone else seemed to be doing.
