Not a gunshot survivor but my brother, dad, and I were all in a WW2 tear gas grenade explosion in 1996-7. My Mom’s dad had just died and my grandma was moving to an apartment. As we were cleaning his garage my dad found a grenade on the The Panthers 25th anniversary 1995-2020 thank you for the memories signatures shirt moreover I love this top of a shelf. He kept his cool, told my brother and I what he thought it was, “A live tear gas grenade your grandpa must’ve kept after the war.” Let us touch the side of it while holding the pin and lever carefully so that we couldn’t get hurt. Then put it very carefully back on the shelf. We kept cleaning but several minutes later someone bumped the shelf, the grenade rolled off and hit the floor. Instantly the garage was filled with “smoke” it hurt bad, we could hear a high pressure sound like air leaking from a tire and could see the gas leaking from the grenade. My dad yelled for us to run and grabbed for the grenade, as it left his hand the shell burst sending shrapnel everywhere, he had cuts all over and my brother and I had several pieces in us. But I remember very clearly as I was running seeing a tiny blur go between my armpit and right arm and hitting my left hand. It just grazed me and I didn’t end up needing stitches but they did bring us all into the hospital and we had to get fresh clothes brought in and they had my Dad and brother on oxygen for a short while. Since then I’ve tried to avoid situations where I might get shot or tear gassed.

Fleshwound. Accidental discharge due to negligence. Felt like electricity for a moment and then not much other than a sensation of static/numbness so strong it bordered on painful but it faded over several minutes With shrapnel in the The Panthers 25th anniversary 1995-2020 thank you for the memories signatures shirt moreover I love this chest and back and thigh and a bullet thru the meaty area of the hip, all I really remember was just hard pressure like I got hit with something blunt and hard. Don’t remember any pain till got to the hospital and they tried to move the arm and leg, then it was searing pain getting muscles moved that had stayed unmoving for hours. Got hit with buck shot and it sprayed up my lower legs. Didn’t feel much but had to get checked out by the surgeon. Hearing the stories in this thread of people being shot but not immediately stopped makes me wonder if my 9mm hollows will be sufficient enough to stop an intruder in a home invasion scenario.
