And now they’re racist and fly down the The nemesis dead by daylight shirt in other words I will buy this road screaming “the south will rise again” while screaming racist rants. What else you wanna go on about? Anything from the past 30 or 40 years? The tyranny of the American political system caused this situation. 22 small, backwater states get 44 senators between them, even though they only have the same population, all-together, as California, which only gets two senators. California certainly has it’s own significant problems (the many homeless people it is not doing nearly enough to house), but generally their politics aren’t as extreme as these smaller states. People need to get over the romanticisation of the American political system and the founding fathers and the constitution. The U.S. badly needs a new constitution. One that doesn’t arbitrarily favor people who live in smaller states. And one that doesn’t allow partisans to select court judges, or to draw up congressional districts, or control which districts get what resources, which enables them to force “undesirable” voters to wait in line for as much as eight hours, which many people can’t do (those with debilitating illness or injury, or those on low incomes, for instance).

And before any halfwit CHUD’s try to counter with “but this protects against the The nemesis dead by daylight shirt in other words I will buy this tyranny of the majority.” No. This does nothing to fix that. It takes the tyranny of the majority and turns it into the tyranny of the (more extremist) minority. What you need, to protect against the potential for tyranny by voters, is guaranteed protections for various statistical minority groups. You want robust constraints on what politicians are allowed to do. That’s how you actually address that issue. The reddit or community has taken on wallstreet and won. I’m sure Congress (a less powerful entity) should be a piece of cake. It’s the kind of energy EVERY Democrat should be bringing to ALL the issues effecting people in this country like lack of affordable housing, and the rising cost of power/heat/utilities, and sure there are lots of jobs available but how many of them pay enough to live on? There are so many issues and either politicians are acting (or not acting) out of malice or ignorance. Neither is acceptable. Roe v Wade is just one more burden being placed on the people in this country. It is just so disheartening. The democrats just fucking can’t get it together to put together a win. Student loan relief, parental leave, abortion rights, minimum wage, fighting climate change… they’ve done nothing. The republicans are psycho assholes but at least they get wins.
