I’ve gone to work that way many times too back in the The Guitarist Long T-Shirt and by the same token and day and the mgmt would almost always give me crap for being slower or not as productive or whatever… so I started calling out with migraines. Then that turned into “what a pansy calling out for a headache”. I’ll never go to work with a migraine ever again. I have gone to work sick with a cold. I’ve walked through blizzards to reach my shift. I’ve worked with a back injury and my shoulders killing me. I’ve done numerous 9 hour shifts on 0 sleep. I’ve eaten poorly to have more energy for a shift. I’ve done it all and here’s my advice to the younger people: don’t. Don’t do that shit. Just don’t. Don’t wreck yourself for a job. If the young people are the problem why aren’t they hiring the older folks who are applying there since they’re better workers? A system based on exploitation is only going to work until the mass decide it don’t. It’s right about now. Eat the rich, means unleashing all the accumulated resentment on an entitled class of parasites. And we’ll fuck em.

Yes I am entitled, its my life and my life revolves around me, if I don’t want to come to work because I’m sick so be it. Old farts not realizing they are completely out of touch because people realize that working yourself to the The Guitarist Long T-Shirt and by the same token and bones that would let you die if that would made them profit is not worth it. Yeah, let’s get all pissy because an employee didn’t come in and spread their illness around which would result in 5 people calling off in the following days… Yes. As a person who is not your slave, I do think I can choose which of the precious limited hours of my life to sell to you, and which ones are not for sale. It’s funny how many of these people cry and whine over workers that demand better treatment and rights and won’t put up with stupid bullshit, while at the same time calling the WORKERS names like entitled and whiny. Hypocrisy at its finest. Yes, back in the day conditions used to be much worse for workers. But ya know what? Pay was (relatively) MUCH better. Pay me $50/hr and I will come to work with a cold and risk getting everyone else sick, if that’s what you want. Pay me $50/hr and I will let you dictate my schedule and call me on my day off and ask me to come in. “I was taught that if you are sick, go ahead and make everyone else sick too because fuck them. What’s wrong with our country now?”
