In Iran they have a custom of what is basically extreme politeness. There’s a word for it but I can’t remember. If you, as a for instance, take a cab, when you get to your destination if you ask the The Godfather 50 years shirt it is in the first place but driver how much he’ll probably say something like “Oh don’t worry about it, I can’t ask you for money!” Now he doesn’t actually mean that but it’s expected. The passenger is supposed to respond along the lines of “Oh I can’t ask you to do that for free, please let me give you something.” And this might go back and forth a couple times where the driver “tries” to refuse payment and the passenger insists until the money changes hands and then both thank the other and go their seperate ways. This has been known on occasion to cause issues with inexperienced foreigners who take drivers or shopkeepers at their word and attempt to leave without payment and are then confused when they get angry.

Not really something new I learned about the The Godfather 50 years shirt it is in the first place but religion but I discovered a lot of people don’t know that Buddhism originated from India. Specifically high schoolers who don’t know but still it’s interesting I always kind of thought Mormonism was just a branch of Christian beliefs like baptists or Methodists. In college I learned that while all religions have some wacky beliefs that seem outrageous to those not of that particular faith, the Mormons are much closer to Scientology than Christian beliefs. Jainism vs Buddhism vs Hinduism vs Judaism vs Daoism vs Christianity vs Islam vs Scientology vs Muslim vs Mormon vs Catholicism. When you are a little kid growing up in a war torn politically confusing culture and schools are being hushed about what they can and can’t teach it’s important to study and find the connections between all these religions and the differences. Like five key comparisons and differences each. Just so you kind of understand why even world leaders seem confused and why it’s seems so random at times when certain countries ally themselves with others that don’t at first seem compatible.
