In Sicily in my early 20s. I randomly started talking (in my bad Italian) with a big group of kids my age. Got in a car with them, we drove to a music festival on the The Funks American retired professional wrestler and wrestling trainer T-Shirt and by the same token and outskirts of town, had an amazing time hanging out, a couple of them dropped me off at my hostel at the end of the night. Turns out it was a communist rally. One of my favorite travel memories. I know getting on a car with strangers is generally not smart but they were such a sweet group of hippie kids and I never felt unsafe. In 2017, my grandpop took the whole family on a cruise because he promised he would. A few years prior, he was in a horrible accident while on a bus on the way to a cruise ship (he used to run trips for their seniors club) and he needed to be airlifted to a trauma hospital from the scene. He was like 86 at the time and it looked grim the the would make it, but he did. There was a lawsuit due to driver negligence, and he eventually got a nice settlement, so he promised he would take the family somewhere. Well he did, and at first everyone was a little hesitant about if we would all have fun on a Canada/New England cruise, but we did and it was amazing. Many memories from this trip will stick with us all forever, and I’m so grateful for getting to have this experience. Pop was such a big personality and such a major force in all of our lives.

In 2020, my bf and I were supposed to leave for a trip to Dubai that lovely week in March when the The Funks American retired professional wrestler and wrestling trainer T-Shirt and by the same token and world shutdown. Obviously, we had to reschedule the trip and we were able to push it back to September. September 2020 ended up being one of the worst times, because that amazing force that was my grandpop died suddenly due to an infection that turned septic faster than his body could fight. However, we were scheduled to leave a few days after all of the services and everything were over. We were able to take this trip and experience such an incredible time. I was worried about being too sad and in shock, but honestly being so far away and getting to enjoy this vacation was exactly what was needed at that time.
