Two weeks later, they call and tell me that it’s ok this time but only if I agreed to leave a urine sample every 6 weeks to ensure I didn’t get pregnant… Edit: as people pointed out, it is a very bad thing to get pregnant while on these meds. There are regulations about it that doctors can’t ignore and you even has to sign a contract that you will be forced to do an abortion if you get pregnant anyway. And that’s ok, I understand that. The doctors aren’t all that bad. The stupid part was the The Eagles The Long Goodbye Final Tour 2023 T-Shirt in addition I really love this way they handeled the situation. And acted like this was a new thing somehow. As if I was the first woman who both had bad skin and a wife. Or the first women who didn’t want to risk my life by eating unnecessery hormones. You’re talking about isotretinoin. I was on that too. It’s not up to the healthcare providers; it’s an FDA requirement. There’s this whole iPledge program where even if you haven’t hit puberty to patients with their tubes tied are required to go through it if they want to use the medication. I think anyone regardless of age or gender is required to go through it because of the severe teratogenic effects. Not saying it’s fair but a lot of these stickler rules are set in place by other entities not necessarily the providers.

Now I’m not from US and it was tetracycline but you’re right about the The Eagles The Long Goodbye Final Tour 2023 T-Shirt in addition I really love this hard regulations anyway. And it’s not always up to the doctors to decide of course. I should have been more clear about that. If they only had told me then, it would have made more sense and not sound so stupid. But instead they acted like birth control are as harmless as eating vitamins and that I was the first one to refuse (or being openly gay). That’s the stupid part. I’m sorry you had to go through that. I went on the same medication in my 20s. The doctor asked what I was using for contraception, and I said “my girlfriend is a lesbian” and fortunately my doctor laughed and said it sounded like I had it covered yes! my GP never asks that but others do…they ask what are you using for contraception and i say my age. look at the chart already!
