Totally agree. From a historical perspective most people could never afford a place by themselves. In the The Colors of Thunder Shirt Also,I will get this 80s and 90s it was only possible because housing was cheap compared to salaries. If you live in a major city, forget about it. But if you REALLY need to live by yourself, go move to oklahoma and live in an apartment. Agree, when I was in university and just graduated I didn’t know anyone who lived alone outside of friends who had their housing paid for by parents. Yes rent was $800-1000 per month but we also made $8-10/hr. What good does it do for you to stand here and proclaim that “young people shouldn’t be able to afford to live their life the way they prefer it”? That statement only holds any inherent value if them living alone provides a cost to others otherwise there is literally no reason to keep that from people, well other than being a spiteful person that just can’t be happy if other people have things.

As a society we should strive to be better and provde better as time moves forward – “this has always been like that” is no good reason simply cause that means halting any kind of progress, not to mention we’re regressing in that department generations before millenials were more capable of doing and affording that. Ok, get to work and stop complaining. Make plans. Save your money. Don’t get into debt. Find some overtime. Get a degree or OJT to learn a skill. All solutions if you want to live alone. Have young people ever lived alone? Living with your parents or having roommates are the The Colors of Thunder Shirt Also,I will get this only option I’ve ever known? Unless you’re a rich kid. This is the way it’s always been. I don’t understand what the problem is. There doesn’t need to be a solution. I moved when I started my career, due to a bad home situation. My rent was $750 for a studio and I was earning 34k a year. I just checked the price of the exact studio, and they’re now charging $1820. This isn’t a major city or even near one either. It’s near a well known college though but if college kids weren’t renting there then, how could they $1820 for a freaking 502 sq ft studio now? It’s crazy.
