I’m all about Betabrand and Universal Standard for the office, though these only work if you can get away with stretchy pants at work. Second Betabrand. I love my BB pants, though I sized up from L to XL so they wouldn’t be as snug. The 7 pocket straight leg look just as business casual with a polo as my Lee khakis. The Lee khaki trousers are pretty solid, and I have a few pairs of ladies golf pants that are ok but haven’t had them for more than a year to vouch for the longevity. I will warn against the Kim Rogers trousers. They fit well if you’re curvy and work in a pinch when you get hired and need something to wear to the office, but they pill something fierce. I’ve had NYDJ ponte pants for about 2 or 3 years and they fit perfectly. I bought them on Poshmark but they weren’t too stretched out. They look like slacks but feel like yoga pants. Yes! Expensive but sooooooooooo worth it! They run big and I like my pants snug, so I sized down 2 sizes (14–>10). I’m 5’10 and have them in long and regular length and love both The cropped leg doesn’t bother you? I can’t get into this cropped leg style. I feel like I’m a little kid wearing pants that I’ve outgrown. Maybe I just don’t know how to style them…??

I find they look cute and intentional if you offset them with chunky shoes. Think chunky loafers, these super chunky Sorel boots, or these chunky Ecco heels. Great idea – I have chunky loafers and heels! I’ll try it. I’ve read 4 different people raving about the The Burger Boys Shirt Furthermore, I will do this endless pants so I’m compelled to try them. If you have a short torso and a big butt, skip the Abercrombie! They are not work appropriate on me in any size, even though all my friends love them. Have you tried their their curve love line? I couldn’t figure out which size I prefer so have held off on buying until there’s a sale – but they seemed nice when I tried on in store! Yes!! And I adore their curve love line in literally everything except these pants. I wanted them to work sooo bad (tried probably 6 different sizes) but my butt crack is entirely too prominent to wear the pants in public. Smh. Oh no, that’s so annoying! What is it about trousers that make them such a pain in the ass to find a good pair! (Pun intended haha!) Great question — I’m also on the hunt! I just bit the bullet and bought the Aritzia effortless pants (one in crepe and one in city wool) — will see how they fit once they arrive. A coworker was wearing them and they looked great. Perhaps you could try them on for fit and then buy secondhand ones that come onto the market? Finally I’ve also had the best luck with a wool Brooks Brothers pair that sadly shrank when I accidentally put into the dryer. I tried to replicate it by buying wool BB slacks through Posh but it’s a bit of a hit or miss — even when I try to match the measurements, something unexpected about the cut might mean the measurements are off. Maybe you can see if any come up secondhand.
