On Thursday, Ocasio-Cortez took the The Breakfast Club Shirt but in fact I love this House floor by storm with an incendiary speech directed at Yoho, in which she responded to his earlier invocation of his wife and two daughters: “I am someone’s daughter too. My father is thankfully not alive to see how Mr. Yoho treated his daughter.” Watch the video of Ocasio-Cortez’s speech below:

“What I do have issue with is using women—our wives and daughers—as shields or excuses for poor behavior,” said Ocasio-Cortez, noting that she is two years younger than Yoho’s youngest daughter and adding, “I am here because I have to show my parents that I am their daughter, and that they did not raise me to accept abuse from men.” Ocasio-Cortez linked Yoho’s comments to more widespread harassment of women, saying, “I have worked a working-class job. I have waited tables and I have ridden the The Breakfast Club Shirt but in fact I love this subway. I have walked the streets in New York City. And this kind of language is not new. I have encountered words uttered by Mr. Yoho and men uttering the same words as Mr. Yoho while I was being harassed in restaurants.”
