The Florida Panhandle has alway been this way. Just swap the The Best Day Ever So Was Yesterday And So Is Tomorrow Barbenheimer T-Shirt moreover I love this mountains for springs and it’s basically Deliverance. Generally history doesn’t always ‘progress’ like history classes lay it out. One place could see lots of progress while another place is being taken backwards with a dictator/dark ages (or a whole continent) as happened before. This is the result of so many Americans not bothering to vote. Hate-filled bigots get into power and embolden assholes like the guy that owns this shop. Society is progressing, but many governments are actually going backwards, including the US. Minus the use of the “f” word (in public), there are American politicians who can say everything in that sign and suffer absolutely zero consequences electorally—in fact, their dipshit constituents will reward them for it. By and large, that wouldn’t have been true even during the GW Bush years.

Plus, look at recent laws and norms. The right to an abortion at the The Best Day Ever So Was Yesterday And So Is Tomorrow Barbenheimer T-Shirt moreover I love this national level banished by the Supreme Court (and the open corruption of Clarence Thomas). Corporations de facto given personhood. Republicans stealing not one but two Supreme Court seats in plain view of the public, clearly breaking the intent of the law—TWICE—and suffering no consequences. Racist gerrymandering run amok. Complete legislative stagnancy on issues that actually matter, like climate change. The people want progressive things. The right is working as hard as it can to make sure we don’t get them, and democracy is not their goal. More evidence being that DeSantis has literally stated his intention is to destroy leftism in the US. People would lose their minds if Biden said that. I feel like it’s 1925 in the US. Germany was the location of the most research on trans people back then. Guess what happened a few years later?
