What would have been a good idea would be to have the blend button activate a hidden camera instead. Whoever presses the button gets their picture taken and posted to a massive billboard outside the gallery with a nice big flashing “animal abuser” sign. Unpopular opinion but… it’s a goldfish. I’d be willing to bet half of this sub have eaten fish in the past month. Whether or not you kill a fish is not a moral issue. No, I don’t think we should go around destroying fish just because, but I also think we need to prioritize our outrage. Perfectly legal and you get paid to do that to male chicks though in the egg industry, humans are very morally inconsistent.

Why aren’t you more angry at the person that actually did it? The “artist” and horrible person pressing the button are both fucking assholes and belong in a mental institution. They could have made it so that it recorded that someone pressed the button without actually blending the poor live goldfish! WTF? The museum could make the point they were trying to make without actually being cruel to the fish. Honestly, whoever set that up as an exhibit must be some kind of psychopath. Every day billions of fish are left to die of asphyxia. Others are gutted while still alive to make your food “fresher”. Weird that we think the guy who instantly killed a couple of goldfish is the bad guy while we’re happily munching down on a filet-o-fish and negligently sponsoring the wholesale destruction of ocean web of life. My curiosity would be that it did something besides blend the goldfish up like shoot some confetti or something, then I’d feel completely terrible when it actually killed the thing.
