Yes they should be retired. I mean when I’m 65, I want to be travelling the Thank You For The Memories Akira Toriyama Shirt moreover I love this world and doing whatever the hell I want. Not making antiquated laws and saying dumb boomer stuff that affect millions of people that I know nothing about anymore. Sitting in politics complaining and about everything is not how I would spend my retirement. Truthfully, in some magical ideal world, the main change I’d make would be to make politicians earn only the average wage for the community they represent, to actually encourage them to improve living conditions. Politicians shouldn’t be allowed to run for election after the age of 70, and they should all have a maximum of two terms at every level from city to federal government. At the state level, I’m less worried over – at the national level, Congress members should not have unlimited terms.

Cut that down. I don’t even know to what… 4 terms? Hell, 2 terms like our President? I really don’t know… but I think that’s where we need to have the Thank You For The Memories Akira Toriyama Shirt moreover I love this limit. …then there’s peculiar matter of Supreme Court seat holders basically appointed until either death, resignation, or under special circumstances (impeachment or forced removal due to specific crimes). Any restrictions on running take power away from the voters. Seasoned politicians have clout against lobbying money and a devoted base of support. Age restrictions or term limit restrictions mean we don’t get President Biden or the modern day Bernie Sanders. Who I view as both incredibly successful politicians. Instead of age limits, there should be term limits for Congress and the Senate the same way that Presidents can only serve 2 terms. I’d rather see a lifetime term limit like the US President has, 8 yrs and that’s it. Depending on their age upon getting into politics they could fuck up society for a good 30 years or better with the limit being 65 years of age. We have to be careful putting restrictions on who people can elect. It’s anti-democratic.. But being sensible it’s not an easy answer. Disallowing by age is not really acceptable, as well as rightly illegal otherwise. Age alone doesn’t determine ability of mind, though it does increase in correlation. This is why we have debates, town halls, and media interviews.. We should be able to get all the information we need. Just like interviewing people for jobs. I think it’s the media’s job to properly inform people to make good voting choices. That is easier said than done.
