2 hr. agoBut beans are. So are chickpeas. A large kielbasa is $4- you can cook that with rice, peppers, and an onion and for under $7 have a healthy meal for 4 people in under 20 minutes. How many times can you say that about fast food? My kids dad would make a big batch of beans and spicy rice and when we were a lil more flush (ha) he’d make ‘em into burritos w cheese for the week. But a lot of this is trial and error and you gotta find what works for YOU. Go for cheap meats like chicken and pork or if you want the most nutrition per unit price, get liver (usually cheaper than muscle meat anyway). You also don’t need that much meat to meet nutritional requirements.
