I went to HS is south Tx too and we had an incredibly strict dress code. Boys hair could not be past their collars; I’m pretty sure the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this rule is from the 50’s but they enforced it. No facial hair and no “unnatural” hair colors. I was sent home for pink hair. I feel like this is begging for some kind of subversive action attempting (with their agreement/participation) to get all the ‘gingers’ sent home because they’re unnatural. This is so fucking stupid. All the issues we have with our school system and they’re arguing hair length? I’m so tired of Texas. So when are they going to just go full-on North Korea and have specific hairstyles as they only ones that are government approved? I think it’s interesting that the cause for this rule was a black kid whose hair wasn’t hanging even below his shoulder (from the pictures I’ve seen). Wow freedom! Yea! Hair length must be kept or else it will shatter the very souls of the nation! What a bunch of horseshit… I want to hear an explanation from the judge as to why? How was a students hair length disruptive?! If I were a classmate, I would grow out my hair on purpose. Make sure it reached as far as I could possibly make it. I know this isn’t a fresh take, but it’s the thought I had upon reading this: What FUCKING year is it!?! Jesus! How soon before they say women’s hair has to be a certain length too? This is all just a way to police people’s bodies and other anyone who doesn’t fit their ideal of masculine and feminine.

Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt: Perfect for Fans

Why the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this gender difference? Since when did everyone agree young men must have shorter hair? Such a dumb thing it wrings my thinky sponge I believe the argument for the CROWN act was that it was supposed to protect people using “protective” hairstyles (specifically black hair) against discrimination. The questions is, is a long hair hairstyle protective or culturally relevant and can a protective hairstyle adhere to the length requirements? The CROWN act was not exclusively aimed to protect women, but it’s the historical demographic it aims to protect. I wouldn’t be surprised if details on men’s hairstyles weren’t elaborated on as much as the details for women’s hair. … may not discriminate against a hair texture or protective hairstyle commonly or historically associated with race.
It doesn’t say fros, cornrows, etc. however it doesn’t exclude them. Regardless, the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this main question is of length. As mentioned above, the historical demographic is women, and it shows because the hairstyle examples allow maximum flexibility for women who tend to have long hair. It’s not unheard of for a school policy to limit. Men’s hair length while allowing women to have long hair. The hairsryle above would be allowed while the one below would not because it goes below the eyebrows, earlobes, and shirt collar. Are both hairstyles functionally the same? If yes, then hairstyle B would be a stylistic choice similar to a white guy deciding to grow his hair out. I’m both cases, both guys would be breaking school policy. If there is an out for this, it is the “hairstyle commonly or historically” associated with a race clause. But it’s a tight argument given the pictures above.

I remember going to stay at my dad’s in 6th grade. On day 2 the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this principal and PE coach held me down and shaved my head. I was pissed but my dad was no help. Just called me a f slur for creating a fuss over hair. Motherfucker was a hippy pothead in the 60s and 70s. Back in the 80s and 90s I had very long, dark, straight hair. It went all the way down to the small of my back. I had a hell of a time getting work because employers had rules that said men’s hair must be cut above the collar, but women could have hair of any length or style without restriction. The only rules for women were “no unnatural coloring in hair.” It doesn’t surprise me that Texas is still living in the 1990s. Up here in Michigan nobody sticks to those sexist old rules afaik. I imagine Texas might catch up in 2040.
Wasn’t this already resolved by the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this Supreme Court as freedom of expression protected under Amd 2? I just can’t anymore… These same people threw a fit and sued schools (and won) saying schools had no right to make students wear a face mask during a global pandemic despite it lowering the chance of exposure and spread of the virus. And now they are saying that these same schools have the right to enforce a student cut their hair the way the school deems proper simply for what reasons again? Conservative notions of dress? Didnt Texas approve the Crown Act which this directly violates? Not that Texas is known for its lack of hypocrisy . Texas judge, black male. I was fairly certain this was how it would go. Equally as certain if it was a white male with longish hair it wouldn’t have been an issue. Literally our Founding Fathers walked around with long-ass braided hair and British government judges and barristers still wear ridiculous wigs as custom. Look up Amal Clooney wearing hers. I do not understand what the state’s interest is in enforcing a hair length for males. It has no impact beyond a preference in a viewer, and the state should not be enforcing that. Guy, these fucks hate everyone outside of their narrow definition of “normal”, black, white, latino, asian, and everyone else.
Hey idiots, we can have long hair in the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this army now. As long as its safe. Stop with your body controling bullshit. “The Texas legal system has validated our position that the district’s dress code does not violate the CROWN Act and that the CROWN Act does not give students unlimited self-expression. The U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled that affirmative action is a violation of the 14th Amendment and we believe the same reasoning will eventually be applied to the CROWN Act. High expectations have helped make Barbers Hill ISD a state leader in all things and high school standards benefit all ethnicities. Falsely claiming racism is worse than racism and undermines efforts to address actions that violate constitutionally protected rights.”
Dumb, and will get moved to higher court- This violates freedom of religion for Sikhs, Rastafarians, Amish and Hasidic Jews. Why the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this fuck are we worried about what kid’s hair is like? Why don’t we use the tax dollars and time to fucking teach them? For fucks sake with this. R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Homes Inc. v. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, a very recent Supreme Court decision from basically the same court that is still sitting, ruled that have different dress codes for men & women violates Title VII. American public schools are just prison-lite. Light on education, heavy on “do what the fuck you’re told, when you’re told to do it.” All I can think is WHY? SHUT UP. Do actual important work. Are you telling me the schools are doing SUCH A FLAWLESS JOB turning out successful adults that they can just piss away a hundred metric tons of time on this? When the girl sitting next to him with hair down to her knees is, shrug, a girl? What the hell? This is why I had a terrible attitude at school and just blew it off all the time. How on earth can you take an educator like this seriously? And unfortunately, a lot of them are like this. Idk it just makes me irrationally angry that they’re this committed to the idea that “only girls have long hair”. Ridiculous. I feel like its a bit pedantic, he would be in violation of the code IF he lets his hair down, so tell him not to let his hair down at school. This feels more like a respect my authoritahhh situation. It sure feels a lot like the school being vindictive and petulant about the CROWN Act. It mentions natural hair texture and locs being protected, but doesn’t mention length anywhere, and so that’s what they’re pushing back on.
You can argue that ofc, but that’s not even what he was doing though, He complied with the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this spirit of the code and still they had to make a big deal about it. In January, Poole placed a full page ad in the Houston Chronicle, arguing that “being an American requires conformity with the positive benefit of unity,” CNN previously reported. “Barbers Hill ISD will continue to make decisions to protect and fight for the rights of its community to set the standards and expectations for our school district even if that path takes us to the U.S. Supreme Court,” he wrote in the ad. How the hell did this doofus become superintendent of a school district? He doesn’t even understand history or the ideals the country is supposedly founded on. The spirit of the Constitution is conformity, and fighting for the rights of the community to trample on individual rights. Good job, dumbass. Just resign your cushy post.
This. Is. Racist. Shit. The whole school of teens should protest by signing up at the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this Homeschooling office where the parent is considered the principal. It could be hugely successful. School as Revolution. It’s so ridiculous for a public school to do this. Nobody is going to catch “long hair” from him, so there is no safety concern. His hair is out of his face and not obstructive in anyway so it shouldn’t interfere in gym class or anywhere else. He has not carved offensive symbols into his hair. What is the reasoning being not allowing him to have long hair if it is neatly back, out of his face, and not obstructive or intrusive? In what universe is this not sex discrimination? You’d think all the “men’s rights” people would be up in arms. Get out and vote in droves in Texas. Guarantee if enough people get out they can flip Texas and start changing things for the better. Time to stop the make American racist again ( it never stopped btw)
Does repug hypocrisy know no bounds? They keep using the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this word freedom, yet they constantly want to police people they don’t like. The rule list from the personal freedoms and small government crowd is getting long, complicated, and really confusing. Texas conservatism is a joke. It’s foundation is not facts or reason, but how the rules can be interpreted so as to give as much freedom to the holder of power to execute its whim and will upon others. You can argue it, but generally if it’s something that cannot be applied to all conservatives, then they go looking for the loophole that lets them get around the roadblock and do the thing they wanted. In this case, you have the CROWN act that bans discrimination, so the judge’s loophole is the length of hair, giving them the excuse they need to ignore the discrimination and uphold their own power to limit the freedom of something that doesn’t apply to them.
This would have been nice 33 years ago so I could have long hair but I guess it’s cool that kids will benefit at least. Federal Discrimination Law – It is illegal to discriminate on the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, or political affiliation. Solicit or consider employment recommendations based on factors other than personal knowledge or records of job related abilities or characteristics. This pisses me off so much. I am a long-haired guy living in TX. This is literally what the CROWN Act was made for. Also I have a story from high school. I dyed a inch thick line center of my head, like a skunk. I was called into the office with a few principals and was told that because there was nothing in the student handbook about it I would be “allowed to keep it”. A new rule was put in the next year that males would not be allowed to dye their hair unless it could be washed out immediately with soap and water. This is bonkers as a Nordic male in the U.S. who enjoys my bit past shoulder length hair, this is insanity. The length of a man’s hair based on their personal choices should in no way impact their access to education.
396 more repliesAt this point the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this rest of us need to declare ourselves religiously affiliated with the church of Anti-Republicanism. Its the only way we get the right to not be controlled by conservatives in every aspect of our lives. wow. a GOP led state… a political party that claims to be all about freedoms… sure doesn’t seem like they’re all that into freedoms. weird. remember how they advocated for no mask mandate. now they’re advocating for hair length mandate… ironic. On a serious note the whole thing on the contrasting treatment between girl and boy hair has been stupid forever. Schools like this are hiding skeletons in the closet over this issue like racism and sexual misconduct. An example of systemic racism for those who want to keep denying it. Apparently corporations calling natural black hair unprofessional wasn’t enough.
Prolifers constantly whine about the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this control of government and yet, they love micromanaging the lives of people. Biggest hypocrites in the world. Ignore what was done to women rights, pay no attention to the men behind the curtain! Texas needs to purge right wing extremist from every office. Republicans, Dems : anyone other than these far right “small government” extremist, dictating lifestyles and our own human bodies, through legislation and far right extremist judges! This is just pure racism. Hair has nothing to do with education. Unless it’s so long that people are tripping over it, hair is nobody else’s business. Wild that a public government run institution can dictate hair length/style of anyone… where do they get off?!?
this is just an “erasure of the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this self” thing. Elan school type shit. these motherfuckers are reading the books on psychological human control. Was curious what the comments were on Fox. So pulled up an article on this issue on Fox’s site. Not a ton of comments, but seemed evenly split between, ‘What a waste of time’ and ‘The rules apply to everyone, so just follow the rules’ What’s the problem with males having long hairs? Why some people feel the urge to restrict others with something that doesn’t really impact them in anyway? Where they are fucking up in Texas is they need to invent hair gun holsters, if you can carry a gun in your hair they would encourage it being long Does this mean these judicial clowns think they can also restrict females from having short hair? Texas is just throwing sht at the wall and seeing how much of it will stick. Knowing Texas, they will eventually use the policy to keep trans girls from growing their hair out by making it so boy and girl dress codes are sex at birth. For many Native Americans that would be a violation of their religious beliefs and has already been ruled unconstitutional. They’re arguing that it only applies to Native Americans though. Despite the fact that many Ancestral African beliefs are almost word for word the same as our indigenous reasons for not cutting our hair.
Again. Texas showing us how much they deserve to be their own country, and not be affiliated with the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this rest of the union. In January, Poole placed a full page ad in the Houston Chronicle, arguing that “being an American requires conformity with the positive benefit of unity,” CNN previously reported. Is the irony of George suing Barbers Hill school district, being lost on anyone? No, no the irony is iron clad. What an insult to us all. That we have to plead and ask and beg for our basic civil rights. Maybe even go financially bankrupt in courts just trying to get basic decency. This school district is a fucking embarrassment. They’re relying on the most anal-retentive interpretation of a law clearly designed to stop this kind of discrimination. And this motherfucking judge. Isn’t it funny that when it’s an issue they’re ideologically aligned with these originalist judges are filling in the gaps like it was fucking mad libs, but when it’s not all of a sudden they’re like, hmm, sorry, the law don’t say a dog can’t play basketball. The only thing more embarrassing is the superintendent of the school district taking out a full page ad in the chronicle and proceeding to show HIS WHOLE ASS with shit like this: “Poole wrote that districts with a traditional dress code are safer and have higher academic performance, and that “being an American requires conformity.”
First off, correlation vs. causation motherfucker and second off, what?? Being an American requires conformity?? Oh yeah, glad to know we really conformed to English rule during the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this American revolution… really prepared us for all the conforming we’d do in WWII! Disingenuous arguments heaped on top of originalist bullshit nestled cozily in the lap of systemic racism. Ridiculous. Got to have short hair and be clean shaven to prepare to go to college. To go to college to grow your hair and beard long. …What….? How is this any teacher’s fault?? And if you think teachers don’t have dress code and presentation rules they have to follow then oh boy do I have some news for you. “Darryl made this statement, and told me this straight up with tears in his eyes, ‘All because of my hair? I can’t get my education because of hair? I cannot be around other peers and enjoy my junior year, because of my hair?’” Oh fffs! It’s always freaking TEXAS! Please let them secede from the union. I don’t want my Blue State financially supporting these assholes anymore. Over half of us don’t agree with this shit either, unfortunately the state is gerrymandered to hell and back so our votes don’t count. Barbers Hill Independent School District Superintendent Greg Poole said the ruling “validated our position that the district’s dress code does not violate the CROWN Act and that the CROWN Act does not give students unlimited self-expression.”
What about width of hair? Is this same policy applied to caucasian students (legit question since I’m too lazy to read the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this whole article)? Honestly, I bet half the decision was the judge thinking this could be a way to stop trans girls growing their hair out Poole previously told CNN “hair length of male students is only constitutionally protected for Native American students. NEWS FLASH. The moment enslaved people were brought to the USA and were forced forsake their native language, culture and religion, they and all their children after them, became for all intent and purposes native fucking americans. These kinds is events are extremely pointless to an extent. The people that live in all 52 states should look into their right a lot more. They would see that the state has ownership of all its citizens. These cases are pointless because the state owns the rights to ultimately decide for its citizens. You may want your child to have control over how long their hair is but you yourself as a parent don’t even get that right to say because you have your child registered in a public system that removes their rights. This is just like the Olympics. You want to enter an event that has established rules but don’t want to abide by those rules. It really helps to take a deep dive into learning your rights as a human being and then learning how to execute those rights. If you want to have control of your private life then remove yourself from the public. The judges did nothing wrong here. How many people go into court without knowing about their rights? Is it a big deal to keep it short to get during your education? Have to wear clothes, do homework … after you graduate do what ever.
I think republicans confuse the Texas Tech Red Raider Vs Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 Liberty Bowl Wreck’Em Tech Gameday December 27th Memphis Tennessee shirt moreover I love this word petit with petty. One means small, the other means all up in every tiny fucking detail. Morons. What are you all going to do about ‘y’all people”? Today, it’s this. Yesterday, it was ruling about the value of Jaahnavi Kandula’s life. I don’t understand the communal cowardice. This seems like poking the bear. They’re just hoping the federal government steps in and tells them they can’t discriminate. Then, they can get all up in arms about small government, while simultaneously being massively intruding government. I wouldn’t put much stock into the opinion of a local circuit judge on an issue like this. They’re elected officials and their job has no qualification requirements beyond being an attorney.

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
