TLDR: If they with you gone they will get rid of you. In the Texas Longhorns vs Oklahoma Sooners Allstate Red River Rivalry 2023 Shirt and I love this long run, quitting will probably work out, but in the short term it’s really stressful to be unemployed and searching for work. I was put on a PIP once. There were very clear goals, and I met every expectation they specified. Despite that, my manager tried to tell HR that I was still underperforming; I had documentation regarding specific measurements and explained how I not only met all of the goals but I exceeded several by 200%. The 80 day marker came around, and the HR person said that even though I had started strong in the 30 and 60 day reviews, I was still not meeting my manager’s expectations, and I had 20 days to improve or the will escalate. Which basically meant they were going to fire me with cause. They didn’t care that I was not only exceeding the expectations specified and one of the top performers on the team. I was so pissed I went back to my desk, packed up my personal things, and wrote an email to the team explaining why I quit, and a nicer email to clients explaining they will need to contact my boss to find a new point of contact.

That was 2020… It took me 4 months to find a new job, and the Texas Longhorns vs Oklahoma Sooners Allstate Red River Rivalry 2023 Shirt and I love this only reason I didn’t end up on the street was because of the pandemic relief and being able to take money from my retirement account. So, in the long run, I regret nothing. I ended up in a better job with a better team; however, in the short term, it was scary and stressful and I was worried I would end up in a homeless camp. If I could have found a job first, it would have been much nicer. I recommend you search for a job with the expectation of starting when you get back from your trip, if you can find something before you leave, then quit… That is, unless you can milk the job for some sick days or something. My partner just went through a same bogus pip and was terminated. If it’s unannounced it’s bullshit. They’re restructuring and looking for a way to get you out without paying severance and being off the hook with litigation.
