College Station, Texas – The Texas A&M baseball team punched their ticket to the Super Regionals in style on Sunday night, defeating the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns 10-2 to win the NCAA Bryan-College Station Regional. The Aggies, who were the No. 2 seed in the regional, will now face the No. 1 seed Miami Hurricanes in the Super Regionals next weekend.

The Aggies got off to a quick start on Sunday, scoring two runs in the first inning on a double by Bryce Blaum. They added another run in the second inning on a home run by Will Frizzell, and they chased Louisiana starter Bo Bonds from the game in the third inning after he loaded the bases with one out.

The Ragin’ Cajuns got on the board in the fourth inning on a two-run single by Brenn Conrad, but the Aggies answered right back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning. Blaum drove in one run with a single, and Frizzell drove in another with a sacrifice fly.

The Aggies put the game away in the sixth inning with a three-run home run by Jordan Thompson. It was Thompson’s second home run of the regional, and it gave the Aggies a 9-2 lead.
A&M starting pitcher Nathan Dettmer was outstanding on Sunday, allowing just two runs on five hits in 6.1 innings of work. He struck out eight batters and walked just one. Bryce Miller and Ryan Prager combined to pitch the final 2.2 innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three batters.
The Aggies finished the regional with a 3-0 record, and they outscored their opponents 24-7. Blaum led the way offensively, going 7-for-13 with four RBIs. Frizzell was also impressive, going 6-for-13 with three RBIs and three home runs.
