I’m currently beating my head against the secret final boss in Octopath Traveler 2. I try not to look at guides and such but I’m at my limit now. Every strategy I’ve tried has been wrong. Until this point I’ve found the game to be pretty easy. Only TPK’ed against one boss and killed him easy the second time. Not so much with this last bastard. The first time I went through Bitter Black Isles on Dragons Dogma, I came across an Elder Ogre, which had spawned in while i was fighting a bunch of skeletons. I could tell I was under level, as I wasn’t doing a lot of damage, and i was only slowly chipping away at its health. Well, these things have 90k/9 full bars of health, and when you get it down, about 3 bars left, the ogre enrages, and when enraged, at that low a level, any attack one shots you, and their damage resistance seemed to go up as well. First time i got one shot as soon as it got enraged. Mind you, this took a solid almost 45 minutes of using dual daggers and a bow. The second time I came around, I fought this ore for a solid hour and a half, slowly chipping away health, slowly and methodically attacking and retreating. I got the ogre down to half health, and it did an attack I didn’t expect, and it one shot me. I almost smashed my controller.

I didn’t realize the entire game that you could deflect lasers with your shield until after I was talking to my buddy about how hard I found that Gannon fight. Kotor 1 – malek. I had a terrible built character so final boss was basically cheese with the light saber boomerang ability. 2nd playthrough I built a decent character and basically destroyed malek Super Mario 64, the first star in the game – defeating Big Bob Omb. I kept picking him up, walking to the edge of the battlefield, and throwing him off of the mountain. He flew back up every time and lectured me (I couldn’t understand much of the written dialogue at age 6). Turns out, all I had to do was throw him on his ass a foot in front of me a couple times. How is this more effective? Prince of Persia. Don’t remember the name, but he was a bastard to beat, my brother and I (both adults) spent a week or two to trying. It was so tough he didn’t believe when I told him I finally won.
