A bunch of goodies from a 5 star hotel and an iPhone 15 Pro. Granted, this wasn’t from my organisation, but from a client. Which client? Do they want someone? Like or golang developer with 3 yrs exp in big product based or a watchman? No holiday nor gift. My company never gave diwali gift. But this time they fired few people recently so i should think my job is my gift? Though, I didn’t get anything, but planning to give sweets to our maid and cook so that they don’t bitch about me the Teacher I Will Drink Coffee Here Or There Drink Coffee Everywhere Dr Seuss Hat T-Shirt but in fact I love this way i am bitching about my company!! I didn’t get anything. I had to work night and when my roomate who also works in the same company mentioned it they apparently gave some random bs like, “We bought sweets based on the number of people who are in the office right now ”. My country head called on all the senior folks in a one of their meeting and and said , the 1000 amazon coupon is too less for employees. So, he decided not to give the 1000 coupon! What a man! It sucks that we engineers are supposed to get things done within hours, only for it to take a multiple days to get through the red-tape. Bitch, if it’s really urgent for me to work whole night, other people better be working whole night to release it the same day, as well.

Our company doesn’t give any gifts on festivals because they can’t do it for every religion I guess and that would be a discrimination if they give only to Hindu festivals. What a stupid logic? Would they be giving out gifts only for employees of specific religion? Why would a non-hindu be disappointed at gift anytime? The same as every year, a mail from the Teacher I Will Drink Coffee Here Or There Drink Coffee Everywhere Dr Seuss Hat T-Shirt but in fact I love this ceo wishing all of us a happy Diwali, bet that guy is real happy wishing us this year, given Diwali is on a Sunday so no holiday. Got fired. Cutting cost they say. Clients are giving them less work they said. Ironically though, existing employee are living Murthy Kaka’s wet dream, an 80 hour(or so) work week. Good riddance I say. That be my gift. Poorer but saner.
