But like, we have known they were hypocrites since Nixon, why are we still pointing this out, exasperated and wondering when the Tanqr Merch Youth T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this shame will catch up with them? Fact remains, the GOP still has a seat at the table, Dems like Feinasein and Pelosi will engage them in good faith dialogue knowing their lying hypocrites. They have enough “respectable conservatives” to keep the facade going, and every time we treat even one of these Republicans like an adult human that deserves our attention is a fucking loss. At some point we will have to come to terms that even engaging with them in dialogue as equals is a mistake, and our inability to move beyond conservatives entirely has made us a pathetic, pitiful nation. I’d say it’s more that they believe in an unrealistic and harmful hyper-individualism that acts as though nothing we do is ever connected to any broader context or sense of community. So when that child grows up without a home, it’s a personal failing of the Tanqr Merch Youth T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this parent or the child. Shoulda picked themselves up by their bootstraps kinda thing. That’s how they rationalize it for themselves. Yes exactly, and this type of thinking is deeply tied to the Christian faith because of their stringent view of Good and Evil. They don’t believe there are any societal root causes why people make bad decisions (besides Satan), so as a result they don’t care about eliminating those causes of poverty and suffering. They also could care less about American unity; they believe it’s their duty to fight the “evil” people on earth until sky daddy takes them to heaven. This was actually the issue that liberalized me. I grew up in the South and Midwest, and was firmly pro-life for much of my youth, but the older I got the less I could reconcile the notion that “all live has value” with “welfare is evil”. You can’t insist women carry babies to term if you aren’t willing to provide the support structures they need both pre and post natal. It’s hypocritical, in my view.
