If you ask my players, it generally revolves around puns and making me want to headbutt the T.J. Oshie American professional ice hockey right winger Washington Capitals T-Shirt but in fact I love this desk, until the 3-year-long pun I’ve been working to introduce to the game comes to fruition, and then it’s them wanting to hunt me down. Once, they had an entire 8 hours over 3 sessions not knowing that they were working towards an ‘Allo ‘Allo pun. I make a whole bunch of ‘weird’ D&D maps that other people don’t tend to make, because I know my group of players is going to have a good time messing around in a theme park, zoo, circus, allotments, or similar. They’ll find something to investigate. F’r instance, I know they’ll find out about the allotment warden and decide they want to heist his office and find out some dirt on him for blackmail, so I will prepare some in advance. Sometimes based on a pun or minor reference that they’ll groan at but won’t derail things. I’m planning a lovely 9-hole minigolf course soon, and I plan to make as many of them themed around golfer’s names as possible. One is definitely going to be a miniature forest where they have to bonk the ball off wild cats and trees towards the hole, and it shall be Lion & Tiger Woods.

Ah thanks! As a DND player I was wondering how you’d use a map like this as the T.J. Oshie American professional ice hockey right winger Washington Capitals T-Shirt but in fact I love this combat or interactions weren’t clear to me at first. It’s been more than 30 years since I did any RPGing and perhaps 20 since I saw ‘Allo ‘Allo, but I’m still going to have a crack at this: was it “listen very carefully – I shall say zis only wuence?” And I’m going to assume you had the Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies as some sort of quest item. No need to correct me if not. That was a valuable painting in the large house they heisted that they did, indeed, steal. One of them painted a very interesting replica (a stick figure with boobs) to replace it. They had a whole series of tips and advice they’d got from a variety of NPCs to make a big heist go off without a hitch. It involved making the lord of the manor extremely unwell with a drugged drink. The did this using a tablet they paid to be left in the till of their local tavern, which was to be placed in the Lord’s beer jug. The beer jug already had a potion left in it by a servant they had paid off. This would react with the tablet and when the beer was added, it’d be tasteless but would cause the most extreme shits. They then had to blow a hole in a wall of a vault using dynamite disguised as a candle in a cake (identifiable as the explosive by a little grip on it for careful handling), stealing everything in sight, and legging it.
