Moving in together is a compatibility test. You’ve found an incompatibly. In a healthy relationship, you’d have a respectful discussion about it to figure out if there’s a reasonable compromise or not. She decided to call you fat instead. Sounds like you’re incompatible. If my partner called me fat the first week after moving in, that would probably end it for me. That’s just a bit too toxic for me. I wouldn’t want to live with that. And you’re not even fat. So she’s not just detracting with insults. She’s gaslighting. That’s not ok. Unless she shows some serious guilt and genuinely apologizes and corrects her behavior, she’s not worth it. Just the way she approached it was immature and would be a serious point of discussion for me. She wasn’t going in for a discussion. She was mad that you didn’t just make yourself uncomfortable for her. And how has this not done up before? Sure you just moved in together, but did you never spend the night together before you moved in? Did you go without a fan at all before she moved in? Did she ever have a problem with the fan before she more in? It sounds like she moved in completely intending to manipulate you out of your fan. She waited until she had no where else to go before she made her move, hoping you would feel too guilty about kicking her out. Do not feel guilty. She’s awful.

Nope. She’ll get used to it. This was my experience anyways. When me and my wife started living together it was a bit of a challenge for her. She can’t have any air blowing on her face (from any source. Wind or a fan) because it bugs her throat. The compromise we made was to move the fan from the foot of the bed to right at the top corner by my head and directed mostly downwards towards my body. Of course there’s still enough flow going to my face and whatnot but she gets almost none of it now. Dude I can relate. My wife hates having the air purifier on because is the sound. What is it about the fan that bothers her? See if you can compromise. If it’s the noise, get one of those silent Dyson fans. If it’s the wind, put the fan to blow only on your side of the bed. This shouldn’t be a dealbreaker, she sounds a little manipulative bringing up your weight. Wtf does that have to do with a fan at night
