This seems pretty normal to me. I’m 39F and my husband would occasionally text my besties about me, especially when he was worried. He knew that they’d take care of me in ways he couldn’t. It shows love and caring. I don’t think it’s anything other than just looking for connection to people that his person cares about. People in relationships can be very ridged and controlling about any social interaction where there is any chance of sexual attraction, let alone any likelihood of any inappropriate acts occurring. I had it occur to me with my mentor, who was a bit younger than me; who also became somewhat of a friend. We had wanted to get our spouses and kids together socially at some point, and my wife was totally onboard with that idea, but it turns out, as you’ll see, her husband apparently never wanted to meet me/us, and never did.
