I always thought this when I was growing up. We’re taking off and I see someone using their phone. The perfect storm of issues occurs when a pilot is complacent and there is a condition that could get them in trouble. We can get a plane on the ground with no coms, no gyro, and no altimeter. It’s not nearly as complicated as people think. That’s not what I’m saying. It’s not that the cant. It’s that an instrument that isn’t working is very dangerous if you don’t know it’s not working properly.
