You know I told myself at 18 years old I never wanted to have kids. I went through cancer treatment all the Stop the teal classic shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this way up to the age of 9 where I hit early puberty and some of the radiation had an effect on my body. Scroll ahead 9 year and now I’m dealing with another kind of cancer and more radiation is required and the doctors asked do you want to freeze your sperm. And without giving it any consideration I said no. Couple years down the road another type of cancer emerges. I’m now 30 and in remission. I’m at this lovely lady when I moved from Ontario to Manitoba and we clicked and after a couple years we moved in together and we had that very same discussion of do we want kids and we both agreed nah we’re fine. Before I met Amanda I was an alcoholic and a pig and was sleeping with anything I could. The reason being doctors told me you never going to be able to have kids. 2 years go by of us living together and it’s been Rocky. All of a sudden one day she wakes up she’s not feeling good and time of the month is off and something just didn’t seem right. Well a few days later she takes a pregnancy test and it came back positive. It rocked our f****** world because I was told I would never have kids at least not from my soldiers. Well he’s five on Sunday which is also mother’s Day. now I have three under five all biologically mine tested and true. When we first had our son I was terrified cuz I was still in that mindset that I did not want kids. Our relationship was also at the brink of ending. Number two came along and I felt stressed and overwhelmed and thought to myself I can’t handle this and I can’t do this. Well my baby boy who is now 18 months old is the happiest freaking baby you would ever meet and by God is he not only physically smart his motor functions are 10 times that of our first two and same with his neurological function he’s putting full phrases together already of course that’s part of being around his siblings. But just sitting back and watching those three miracles grow up in front of you and realizing they weren’t supposed to be yours, they were never supposed to happen… That changes everything. So anyone who says they don’t want kids or is afraid of not being a good parent like myself it’s literally one of those things you learn as you go, learn on the fly or really you just wing it. I mean there’s plenty of programs and courses you can do through your local public health or church which helps your understanding and ability to parent but trust me what you learn and understand what it means to be a parent once you bring that third child into the world you realize why did I ever say no. No there are some days where I wish it was just the wife and I again but guess what the next day you’re fine.

As a 36 yo woman who put off pregnancy for a good 15 yrs (been with my partner for 19 yrs), and am now pregnant with my first, I have doubts every single day if I majorly fucked up or not ? I don’t really like kids at all. I’m kind of lazy and selfish. I am very introverted and need lots of time alone. My whole life is about to be turned upside down. ? good things are: I have an amazing partner , financial stability, and I refuse to let myself be a shitty parent so I’ll at least try my best to be the Stop the teal classic shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this best mom I can. But I’m still lo-key terrified I made a big mistake?? I waffled back and forth for so long about if I should or not, but ultimately came to the conclusion that I’d prob regret it when I’m older if I didn’t??
