Men are played by men, so most of them are too idealistically designed. I’ll take World of Warcraft as an example there. It is a violent world (“war”craft, duh!) where humans are supposed to match orcs in strength, so first human male models where very, very muscular (still are, but less). It’s the Stone Cold Steve Austin Monster Truck Signature Stars T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this same option for every class, warrior, paladin or… priests. Do I feel like a beefcake priest is a good pick ? Do I self-identify or is it actually gonna break my immersion ? On the other hand, women are most likely also played by men, so they made it not to match self-representation, but still some ego-boosting like “that girl you don’t have in your life, but crave for it”. She’s ordinary at first (yes, I could pick a slender sexy elf, but I can also be a fem-panda), and gets stronger and prettier by the clothes’ upgrades. It’s rewarding for a man to care about his girl, give her the best, just as it is rewarding to get more powerful in an RPG.

I guess those men prefer to take care of a significant other (even sometimes too sexualized/misguided) than attend to themselves. In addition to the Stone Cold Steve Austin Monster Truck Signature Stars T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this other answers, sometimes the women characters have smaller hitboxes, which can be a competitive advantage in shooting games (e.g. the Uncharted series) Generally I find the voice acting is better for female characters, it’s either gruff male voice which is default in many games anyway or interesting well acted female character. Depends what you mean. In fighter games, female characters just have their own moves and can relate to the player better how they use them You don’t mentally have to turn into the character you play in a video game otherwise we’d all identify as Italian plumbers from Brooklyn. When I have decided to use a female character it was to try something different or for aesthetics. I played fallout new vegas as myself a ton. I thought playing as a chick would force me to play differently. Oblivion was a bit easier to roleplay as not me. I played as a vampire assassin once and for some reason that character seemed to make more sense female. Sometimes the men’s character model looks really off and it’s just more enjoyable to play as a women character at that point. When you play a game, at least in third person, what do you look at most? Your character. I’d rather look at a hot girl than a dude that doesn’t look like me.

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
