I was about to say this. It’s adorable!… Until you realize this thing can stand up to 6 ft. taller than you, is practically pure muscle, and an apex killing machine. Polar bears are lit. Nevermind that they live in an environment where threats really just don’t exist for them. And food is scarce enough that seeing another animal is essentially reason enough to go full on kill mode. Normally, there is an outhouse. But seriously on the Stitch mum’s job shirt and I love this north slope you never go anywhere without a high caliber rifle. None of that weak ass lower 48er AR-15 bullshit. We are talking a .470 round. You gotta put it down with the first round, if you miss, you likely wont get to fire a second. oh my.. I hope no drunkard on there… if everyone bring that kind of weapons while drunk or high and mistook someone as bear

If not friend, Why friend shaped? (This is in no way an original comment. Has been seen in the Stitch mum’s job shirt and I love this past. In no way do I take credit for this highly relevant comment in this topic) There’s a ton of videos that have been coming out for the last year from the Ukraine war of drones dropping grenades on soldiers. So many that people who binge on r/combatvideos think that overhead drone shots will lead to a grenade drop. I know they have specially adapted fur but it’s still wild to me they can do this without freezing to death, let alone comfortably. Imagine though being able to swim in the water and not worry about anything, being cold, being bitten, driwning, it would be so nice. And the poor little penguins are so small and helpless. A polar bear would eat ten of them for breakfast and think nothing of it. While polar bears and orcas do have overlapping territory, orcas don’t like areas with lots of sea ice (their dorsal fins hit it), and polar bears love it and do most of their hunting on sea ice. In areas with lost of open water, orcas will be there but the bears will be on the land. With areas with lost of sea ice, the bears will be hunting but the orcas won’t be around. Huge areas of the Canadian arctic have LOTS of bears, but no orcas. Interesting though, in Hudson Bay there are TONES of bears but almost no orcas because of the heavy sea ice. With climate change the ice is around for less of the year, and orcas are moving into the bay. We might see them competing for food (most seals) in the coming years, and I don’t think the bears are going to win the fight. Sometimes yes, but it is not part of their regular diet. Orcas like Polar bears are looking for those tasty seals, they want the fat for the energy. In the arctic, the calories have to be worth the effort. So it does happen but it is not common.
