Almost all Ethiopians use a 12-hour clock system. The daytime cycle begins at dawn 12:00 (6:00:00 AM EAT) and ends at dusk 11:59:59 (5:59:59 PM EAT). The night time cycle begins at dusk 12:00 (6:00:00 PM EAT) and ends at dawn 11:59:59 (5:59:59 AM EAT). In my culture, it’s better to be early than late. So we have early birthday celebrations. In some cultures, it’s actually had luck to celebrate birthdays before the Stitch hug Wendy’s girl shirt and I love this actual day. In Greece, people celebrate the feast day of the saint they were named after. It is more important than birthdays. Most children are named after their grandparents who are most likely named after saints. European people can walk up and drunk piss on the side of a 400 year old building at 2 am like its nothing. Dude, that apartment building is older than my country.

My Korean friend from grad school asked me if, when I visit my Stitch hug Wendy’s girl shirt and I love this parents at holidays, I touch my mother’s breast as a greeting. I thought he was fucking with me but remembered that he had literally zero sense of humor. Apparently it’s a gesture of respect there? That in USA people do not drink until 21? You guys just say it to avoid trouble but tell me its not a big deal, right? Drinking wine is encouraged where I come from, I remember going to restaurants with classmates and teacher and getting home after 3-4 glasses of wine, I was like 16 or younger. I also religiously drank cocktails whole summer when I was 17, I remember relaxing/laying in hammock reading book and sipping baileys with ice every evening.
