We had one similar, not quite as outlandish but still, I bought a £12k jag but bartered them down to £2k. Just went on holiday and it cost me £60k but it was worth it. I had to spend £50k on getting my back fixed blah blah. The story would change from person to person and sometimes he would forget he had told you something so when he told the Stitch Cream Shirt but in fact I love this story again it had even more exaggeration. We called him Billy Bollocks because of all the bollocks he spoke, his real name was Brian. Oh god that’s my next door neighbour. Total Walter Mitty. Likes to one-up you and tell you “What you should do is…”. Got a friend who’s got a guitar building business. His handle on social media was “6 String [name]” but I misread it, and now he’s called “G-String [name]”. got a temp store manager called mark who spends more time on the shitter and bollocking people than actually contributing.

Similar to yours. Guy at work who won’t shut up in meetings when everybody wants to get home. Called Mr Kipling because he can’t shut his fucking cakehole And a dear friend who loved wearing a leather jacket so was forever known (at least post-Pulp Fiction) as The Gimp At uni I met an extremely big, rugged, muscular guy called Sophie and didn’t think twice about it. A year later I found out that was a nickname and his actual name was George. I love it when that happens. I knew my mate Madge for months before finding out his name is actually Lee. He is still known as Madge I knew Noddy for years before seeing his driving licence and discovering his name is Brian. I think only the Stitch Cream Shirt but in fact I love this Job Centre called him Brian – even his mum called him Noddy or Nod An old pal of mine was engaged before she found out that her partner’s name wasn’t actually Paddy — that was just a nickname he’d been given at work because he was Irish. A bit… I know! Apparently it only did because they were moving to Ireland for a bit and he was like “Oh, by the way, everyone there calls me Tim” (or whatever his real name was)… Call a lad at work “blister”, because he always shows up when the hard work is done. I call Steve “daz”, because like the detergent he should be kept away from kids. Another guy, Liam, who is alway off or late, nickname is daisy. Because some daisy’s in and some daisy isn’t.
