My wife grew up with no electricity water etc and food was scarce. She is one of those moms that is very concerned with our daughter eating enough. Just because of her lived experiences I try to redirect my son (2.5) to eat his food, because he gets distracted. This is how this morning went (dramatization): Son: only eats watermelon please more watermelon mother Me: please take a bite of your scrambled eggs or avocado Son: okay takes bite Me: cool, here’s some more watermelon. Please eat more scrambled eggs after to balance out your meal. He did not eat any more scrambled eggs, but we’re planting the Stephen Vogt I Believe Signature American professional baseball T-Shirt it is in the first place but seed on food balance without force feeding. My husband HAS to finish his plate because that’s how he was raised, and I finish my plate probably once every couple months.

Ok, so take my kid (4yo) for example. I don’t give him an “adult sized” portion by any means. He gets a child sized portion of whatever we’re having. He almost always doesn’t finish his plate, unless it’s something like pancakes. He tends to eat sweet foods like fruit, over the Stephen Vogt I Believe Signature American professional baseball T-Shirt it is in the first place but meat/protein we give him. He’ll say he’s done, but if I offered himma bowl of ice cream he’d probably down the whole thing. The issue is I’m actively trying to get him to eat healthy and try a variety of different foods. He refuses to eat certain foods without ever even trying them (seafood and proteins mainly). My issue is I know he’s not full, so yeah I’ll make him eat at least something every time we eat. I never force him to eat the entire thing, but sometimes he won’t even attempt to eat his food unless I basically force him to.
