3. Grazing all day long is not conducive to doing anything productive with our day. I don’t want to be a slave to constantly having to carry snacks around and feed my baby all day while getting groceries, or doing literally anything else that day. So, I’ve arrived at being that parent that may seem like I’m force feeding my kid at meal times, but that’s because this food is healthy, and I don’t want him to say he’s hungry again until at least a good 2 hrs have passed. Basically I’m trying to train him to eat on a typical adult schedule. It’s simple. Give the Stay Puft Marshmallows Ghostbusters Est 1984 T-Shirt in other words I will buy this kid food. If they don’t want it or are too full to finish it just take the food away. If they complain later that they’re hungry just make them wait until their next meal. Worst case scenario they cry, throw a tantrum and then tire themselves out until they passout and sleep. Also if they say they are hungry offer them water. They won’t die if they miss a meal every now and then. I don’t force my kids to eat more than they wish but I do make them do their eating at meal times. It’s chaos if we don’t have that rule, they get distracted at dinner time and don’t eat anything and then beg for food at different random times later in the evening. In our house you eat at dinner time and then maybe get a small snack before lights out. If you don’t eat at dinner time you’re waiting until breakfast.

Most parents follow what their parents did and never examine what they are doing. They just keep doing whatever they were taught because they think that that way is the Stay Puft Marshmallows Ghostbusters Est 1984 T-Shirt in other words I will buy this only way. This type of thinking was terrible for my health. I was basically conditioned that I need 3 meals a day and need to clean my plate. Well in America those meals got bigger and bigger. And I cleaned my plate because wasting food stressed me out. I ended up obese. I didn’t want my kids to have an unhealthy relationship with food. Now my daughter is adopted and already came to us with her share of issues due to growing up with food insecurity and having sensory issues due to ASD/ADHD. Eating 3 large meals isn’t even suggested by most nutritionists. So I don’t make her clean her plate. I know she will if she’s hungry enough. Also I let her eat what she wants (within reason). If she doesn’t like what I cooked, I keep sandwich stuff and easy Mac that she can fix herself.
