This is pure sarcasm to highlight the Star Trek Klingon Bare-knuckle Boxing Club 2.0 T-Shirt but in fact I love this stupidity of their plan but why should the stolen car’s owner be forced to pay to repair the car tires once it’s recovered by police? The police made the only logical decision by choosing to put holes in the thief instead of the vehicle. /s I feel like the police who came up with this plan have watched too many movies and thought they had to do something overly complicated instead of just keeping the plan simple. It reminds me of the scene from Boondock Saints when they have to lug the “stupid fucking rope” through the vents with them because “they always have rope in the movies.” Or just use car jacks and get the tires out of road contact. Can’t go anywhere, hurt anyone, or damage property. If you watch the full video of the encounter, the officers discuss this, and state it’s against DC Metro policy.
