You need boundaries and you need to set them because your dad isn’t going to do it. As a parent your job is to raise your children to be independent adults in this world, not to keep clinging on to them because you need them for whatever reason. You’re not responsible for your dad’s happiness, he is an adult who is responsible for his own life. My dad’s mum (my Nan) was like this so I recognised the Star Map The Beach In Their Souls shirt also I will do this behaviour in my exes’ mum straight away. My Nan would make these comments to me and I know the impact they can have mentally, that was why I thought I should respond. I’m not one, but even I can see your dad is not good for you and you feel pressured to be around him, which is making you miserable, and in response he’s harassing you to spend more time around him.

Star Map The Beach In Their Souls shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

If it makes you mentally unwell to see him, then you don’t have to see him. You’re an adult. You can just say no. If he was a decent, compassionate person, then he’d understand that he’s stressing you out and would back off, but since he’s doubling down and harassing you further, he’s being nasty and hurting you, so you can just block him. Why you feel you need to see him, and accept that he’s going to harass you until you do, is a problem best hashed out with a professional. Yeah, it happens. After a while, once you’re in a home situation where you need to talk after work, you sort of grow through it. I’m not like this Star Map The Beach In Their Souls shirt also I will do this usually but my boyfriend is. It took a little to get used to as he gets home a few hours after me so I normally wanted to chat then. But now I am totally here for it.
