The styrofoam would have rapidly retracted away from anywhere hot enough to melt it and so much of the volume is air , the plastic forms just a tiny hard lip around the burn. Yes there would be traces of toxic chemicals caused by this but the volume is tiny and must be balanced against other toxic substances from the deep frying and food processing. If you did it every single day for years then yes, some risk , but then we’re exposed to a huge number of toxic chemicals from plastics anyway. A simple conversation partner can be very helpful. Just offer corrections when they’re needed, throw jout some new vocabulary, fix their grammar mistakes. It’s like taking to a child.
