Just remember that some heavy hitters like Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, Mr Beast, etc have all started in their 20’s and are into their 30’s now. There are also those who started at 30 and are in their 40’s like Rhett and Link from GMM. People don’t really care about age IMO, they care about value and entertainment. People past Gen X really don’t use/understand YouTube as a focus for entertainment and things (as a basic generality, I’m sure there are many that do). Just do it if you love it, if you don’t don’t even bother. You’ll audience will know. I see what you mean here. I’m just worried that I might not be able to handle content as an older guy and idk how retirement works here. I guess I don’t know what you mean by “idk how retirement works here”. If you are relating directly to YouTube there are no 401k’s or benefits. Money stops when content does for the Squad up Boston Bruins thank you for the memories shirt but in fact I love this most part. However, you won’t really know how you will be received until you try. You can always go for a couple months and see if you like it. It’s it’s not for you it’s not for you. Nothing wrong with that.

I hope youtube wasn’t your retirement plan, and that you actually have a job with some kind of retirement account, or you’re able to get the Squad up Boston Bruins thank you for the memories shirt but in fact I love this disability funds you need, because youtube is by no means a stable lucrative strategy. Unfortunately, I was born with a neuromuscular disease that eventually made it impossible for me to work after 30+ years. So here I sit at 46. Been making gaming youtube videos since I was 39, and working a soul sucking Job to support my family. I started it as just a way to add a creative aspect to something I already did as a hobby, and 6+ years later, I’m still doing it. It barely makes enough money to pay my internet bill every 3 months. There are a ton of over 30 gaming channels out there, they just aren’t nationally popular, but should be. The over 40 generation is the generation that started home consoles. I’ve played Pong, but my first console was an Atari 2600 because it was what was out at the time. We have so much history with games that is just ignored because it’s not whatever is hot right now. Back in my day we had to walk 40 miles, uphill, both ways in 6 feet of snow with a bag full of glass soda bottles to return to the grocery store for the 5-10 cent deposit, in order to get enough change to make a quarter to play one of the arcade games in the front of that grocery store, and we didn’t complain that they didn’t get new games quick enough. We stood there, and we played Dig Dug for the four thousandth time, and we loved it.
