I’m a bit bummed out since it’s a bit far from what online research showed. Glassdoor and similar had 80-120k as the Sprite Donor Logo shirt and by the same token and range for 0-1 year experience. Talking to most of my cohort showed 90k as the minimum most got offered (although I’m certain there’s some bias given that people might be embarrassed to share low offers). I want to negotiate, but then again I know we’re in a tough time for fresh grads, so it’s extremely important I do not fumble this. How on earth am I going to ask for 80k+ when the offer is so far off? Am I overthinking this? I really just want to get my foot in the door so I’m tempted to just take it, but it’s not going to be a chill job from what I’ve noticed so I’m worried I’ll be stressed and under-compensated… Edit: Thanks for all the responses, the feedback is greatly appreciated! The most important thing as a college graduate is experience. The difference between 67k and 80k is only 9k after taxes. That seems like a lot right now, but compared to what you can make a few years down the road, it’s not worth losing an opportunity over especially in the current job market and if it’s your only offer.

My first job out of college I was making around 50k. 3 years and a couple jobs later I was over 4x that amount. Stay for a year, learn as much as you can, and then apply elsewhere. Or take the Sprite Donor Logo shirt and by the same token and job and continue applying to other places and jump ship if you get something significantly better. This. My first job out of grad school was at a small defense company in Alabama. Best decision I made. 75k, but they took a chance on me with zero experience and taught me everything and more. 2 years later, jumped to 120k. Like the other person said below, 9k is nothing in the grand scheme. Take a chance 🙂 Sorry, you do not meet the minimum sitewide comment karma requirement of 10 to post a comment.
